The pilot test for the Folia prefabrication classroom building.

The San Carlos School District partnered with us to construct $30-million of work, consisting of two specific projects: 1) a new 44,000 sq. ft. two-story classroom building at Central Middle School; and 2) the remodel of the existing Central Middle School into a grades 4 – 5 bridge school.

In addition to leveraging Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools, we utilized a state-of-the-art, panelized structural system to build the classroom building, in which 10 x 30 foot steel panels are custom-made and prefabricated under shop conditions and transported to the site. This system improved the efficiency of installation, resulting in savings both in terms of time and cost.

The new school features flexible learning spaces and learning commons in a 21st century learning environment, and was proof positive that Folia delivers modern school facilities – faster and at less cost – that nurture inspired learning.
